Our Story
It began in the storm cellar of a home built in 1924 where a stainless steel kettle and a family's dedication formed the cornerstone of Mt. Carmel Brewing Company. Established in 2005 by Kathleen and Mike Dewey, MCBC is Cincinnati's oldest craft microbrewery and we continue to advance the frontier.
What once was a small two-vessel system nestled in the storm cellar of our home has since expanded into a 30 barrel brewhouse. Each of our hand crafted offerings are now enjoyed on porches throughout Ohio.
Production responsibly grows from the same address where it all began with our brewing practices cellared in a tradition of quality and enjoyment. The home that once raised two kids has now welcomed a family of dedicated dreamers whose inspired craft is now bottled in 6-packs, kegs and in Porch Packs. Growlers are also available direct from the brewery with our beers poured direct from the taps of our new Carriage House. The Carriage House hosts a from scratch kitchen open for lunch and dinner as well as accommodating private events for up to 150 people.
Our brewery home is located in Mt. Carmel, Ohio - a neighborhood of Cincinnati nestled in the western-most county of Appalachia. We invite you to come porch-sit with us!
